Norilsk Nickel became the winner of the 5th All-Russian competition of regional environmental practices "Reliable Partner - Ecology".
The expert committee called "Clean Norilsk" the best project implemented in the Arctic.
The competition "Reliable Partner - Ecology" is aimed at the purification of water, air, territories and environmental education of citizens.
This year, more than 200 organizations and companies participated in the competition, which was held by the Reliable Partner Association together with the Russian Ecological Society with the support of the Federation Council, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow.
All the submitted projects have either already been implemented or are in an advanced stage of implementation.
As part of Norilsk Nickel's implementation of the "Clean Norilsk" program, 39 objects included in the program were demolished in the city by mid-September.
By the end of the year, almost 200,000 square meters of territory will be cleared and about ten objects will be dismantled.
