Movie about indigenous peoples of the Russian Arctic received a prestigious award

01 december 2023

The movie titled “People & Legends”, a part of the 10 Eco Getaways Arctic series, dedicated to the life of the indigenous peoples of Taimyr and the Kola Peninsula, won the Special Festival Award at the Amorgos International Film Festival held in November 2023 on the Greek island of Amorgos.

The Amorgos Film Festival was held for the 14th time with the support of the National Tourism Organization of Greece under the auspices of UNESCO and within the framework of the Cifft project - the international committee of tourism film festivals, of which Amorgos is an official member.

According to Dimitris Fragakis, Secretary General of the National Tourism Organization of Greece, the Amorgos Film Festival “has a special significance not only because short films from Greece and around the world compete and are awarded, but also because sustainability efforts and sustainable development are promoted mainly through these awards, which have been key priorities for the Greek Tourism Organization in recent years."

The Amorgos International Film Festival award not only demonstrates the film's global recognition, but also helps promote it internationally.
