A hydroelectric power plant (HPP) will be built in the Murmansk Region for the first time since Soviet times. The Arktika small hydroelectric power plant with a design capacity of 16 MW will be a part of a cascade on the Paz River near the border with Norway.
The commissioning period is scheduled for 2026-2027, said Vadim Vederchik, Managing Director of TGC-1 PJSC.
The last HPP in the region was the Nizhneteriber HPP as part of the Teriber cascade, commissioned back in 1987, murmansk.kp.ru reports.
