Significant improvements in the environmental situation in Moscow over the past 10 years were noted by the head of the Moscow Department of Environmental Management and Environmental Protection Yulia Urozhaeva during a speech at the Urban ESG congress.

She reported that emissions of harmful substances from motor transport vehicles in the atmosphere of Moscow decreased by 67% and the volume of contaminated wastewater was down 30%.

According to the official, these changes became possible due to optimization of vehicle management and reconstruction of sewage treatment plants.

In addition, said Urozhaeva, over the past 10 years, the volume of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere in Moscow has decreased by 25%.
