Ministry of Natural Resources names leading regions for Clean Country federal project

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Murad Kerimov told RT which regions of Russia have become leaders in the implementation of the federal Clean Country project.

"I will note some of the most active [regions]. For example, the Moscow Region, the Trans-Baikal Territory, Kirov, Orenburg, Omsk, Samara, Lipetsk and Kursk regions. As well as republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Chechnya," Kerimov said

As part of the Clean Country project, landfills and hazardous facilities in cities are being cleaned in Russia. So, by the end of 2023, 128 unauthorized landfills within the borders of cities and 80 hazardous facilities, next to which 15 million people live, have already been removed, noted the deputy head of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

According to him, the cleaning of 63 more landfills is being completed this year, russian.rt.com reports.
