The Yamal authorities allocated almost 16 million rubles to the Arctic Development Center for the study of walruses.
According to the press service of the governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Dmitry Artyukhov, in 2024 the animal feed base in the mouth of the Tiutei-Yakha River will be studied, work will be carried out to determine the annual life cycle of walruses and search for their breeding sites.
The amount of the subsidy from the Yamal budget is 15.9 million rubles.
The Department of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Autonomous District is charged with controlling the expenditure of budget funds, newdaynews.ru reports.
