Scientists from Yamal will improve methods for studying the internal structure of the cryolithozone and cryogenic relief of the Arctic as part of a joint project with the Russian Science Foundation, Yamal Unites channel on Telegram reported.
"Based on the results of the project, the optimal set of modern research methods for the efficient study of the cryolithozone and geocryological processes will be determined," the publication said.
To date, specialists have already drilled a well, installed temperature-measuring equipment and created a detailed geological and geographical model of the research site. The scientists also conducted an isotope analysis of ice samples from the well.
