Waste management and the creation of an ecotechnopark discussed in Norilsk
During the event, organized by the Norilsk Development Agency (ARN), system solutions and coordination of work in the field of sustainable solid municipal waste management were discussed, as well as options for implementing a large environmental project on the territory of Norilsk and Dudinka within the framework of a concept that includes mechanisms for organizing an ecotechnopark.
The participants of the discussion adjusted further joint actions based on the experience of colleagues and neighbors in the Arctic zone, in particular the Murmansk region.
"The experience of colleagues who have already implemented similar projects in other regions of the country, especially in the Arctic zone, is practically useful for us. It will help us understand what nuances and difficulties we may encounter during implementation, as well as optimize future processes as much as possible," said Andrey Chebotaev, Director of the Department for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Programs at the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel.
In 2022, ARN developed the concept of sustainable waste management in the Taimyr and Norilsk technological zones of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The proposed system provides for a transition to a cyclical economy – resource conservation, separate waste collection and waste recycling.
The concept also defines specific priority technological solutions and key measures, including mechanisms for the construction of an ecotechnopark on the territory, 24rus.ru reports.
