The fourth Arctic Purity Cup event has seen more than 2,000 participants collect about 53 tons of waste at 45 locations.
"This season, environmental athletes have cleared the territory of several natural protected areas, parks and squares in towns and cities of the Arctic from household waste and construction debris," said Anna Kupryakova, head of the regional department of the Clean Games project. In 2021, 694 people participated in the events, 2,513 in 2022 and 3,000 in 2023. In total, they collected about 71 tons of waste.
The Arctic Purity Cup is being implemented with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Project Office for the Development of the Arctic, the Kamchatka clothing brand Beregi and the Arctic Resource Center Foundation.
