The 96th voyage of the scientific research vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, organized by the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, started from Murmansk to the Kara and Barents Seas.
Among other activities, Russian scientists will conduct comprehensive studies of the components of the ecosystem of the Barents and Kara Seas, assess the trophic waters, and study marine fungi in bottom sediments.
In total, during the expedition it is planned to perform at least 20 complex water sampling to determine biological parameters, hydrological and hydrochemical characteristics, as well as 20 sediment samplings, b-port.com reports.
