Russia to create a waste management system at tourist sites

Russian president instructed to create a waste management system at tourist sites within the boundaries of specially protected natural territories, including the prohibition of the use of plastic dishes and the organization of separated waste collection.

In particular, the head of state instructed the government, together with the commission of the State Council, to ensure the elimination of accumulated environmental damage and the purification of the environment in specially protected natural areas from production and consumption waste.

Also, the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant commission of the State Council were instructed to ensure "the creation of an effective management system for such waste at tourism facilities located in specially protected natural areas, including a ban on the use of plastic dishes, bags and other non-degradable solid municipal waste, the organization of separate collection of such waste for further processing."

A report on this issue should be submitted by November 1, and then every six months.
