Eighty locations in the Arctic have been selected to create an environmental monitoring system for the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, which will begin operating in 2025, the developers of the program said.
Large-scale ecosystem studies to monitor the environmental situation in the Arctic are planned to be conducted regularly from 2025 to 2035, and all data will be concentrated on one platform with free public access.
All locations are divided into a network of stations, port zones, areas of sagebrush formation, stationary bird and marine mammal observation ranges in such Arctic regions as Nenets District and Chukotka.
The environmental situation in the Arctic will become part of a unified system of digital services of the Northern Sea Route, rg.ru reports.
