Russia’s ministry of transport has amended rules of removal of sunken ships in Murmansk port’s waters.
The updated list of ships subject to removal also includes vessels that need to be raised and disposed of in the Far East.
In total, the new list indicates more than 30 sunken ships and their remnants in the ports of the Sakhalin Region, Khabarovsk Territory, Chukotka Autonomous District, Krasnodar Territory and Yakutia.
Lifting and removal of sunken objects is planned to be carried out in 2024-2035.
Currently, a large-scale federal project General Clean-up is underway in the Far East. It is aimed at clearing the waters of accumulated debris, acentury.ru reports.
