Norilsk hosts intellectual tournament on industrial safety and health

17 september 2025

Teams from 26 Norilsk Nickel enterprises and more than 200 line managers took part in the intellectual tournament on industrial safety and health, which was held in Norilsk.

Traditional tasks for participants included questions on cardinal rules, safety signs, and regulatory documents.

The players' knowledge was assessed by an expert council, which included the heads of the Industrial Safety and Health Protection Directorate, the Industrial Safety and Industrial Control Department, and the Department of Corporate Projects and Charitable Activities of the Polar Division of Nornickel.

"Intellectual tournaments are held to increase the interest and competencies of employees in industrial safety and health. All levels of management are involved in the development of a safety culture - one of the company's values - and the role of a line manager here cannot be overestimated," commented Evgeny Ryabtsev, the acting Director of the Industrial Safety and Industrial Control Department of Nornickel’s Polar Division.

When summing up the results and presenting the awards, the jury members unanimously acknowledged that the teams of finalists from Nornickel enterprises have a solid knowledge of the cardinal rules and signs of industrial safety.
