Norilsk Nickel enterprises received a new batch of mining equipment
Drilling rigs, loading and delivery vehicles, a mine dump truck, shotcrete installations and machines for inspection and strengthening of mine workings have been added to the mining equipment park.
The new equipment has already been delivered to the Mayak, Oktyabrsky, Komsomolsky, Skalisty and Taimyrsky mines. In addition, four cars will be used by a specialized construction company.
"The arrival of new equipment is the next stage of our long–term strategy for the modernization of fixed assets. We don't just buy equipment. We work with manufacturers, bringing to them the experience of operating these machines in the conditions of our enterprises. This allows us to jointly refine the design, improve security systems and adapt equipment to specific tasks. Most importantly, we see an increase in the quality and adaptability of machines from both domestic and imported manufacturers, which is a clear indicator of a successful import substitution policy," said Maxim Rassokhin, Director of the Department of Self–propelled Underground Equipment.
According to him, the phased renewal of the mining equipment fleet in the Norilsk Nickel's Polar Branch will ensure industrial safety, high productivity and efficiency of the company's enterprises.
