Norilsk Nickel used innovative composite supports for the repair of power lines

22 october 2025
The repair of the 220 kV power transmission line using prefabricated composite poles, which has no analogues in Russian practice, was successfully carried out by specialists of the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel in the south of the Taimyr Peninsula.
The technology was successfully tested during the planned repair of a key section of the company's energy system connecting Ust-Khantaiskaya HPP with Norilsk.
The mobile prefabricated supports used during the work are made of composite materials, which makes them light and durable. The weight of one such structure is about 6.4 tons. Based on the results of successful application on the 220 kV line, the new technology is expected to be actively used at all facilities of the Norilsk Nickel power system.
