Russia introduces new state-run industrial safety supervision system

21 april 2026

A new state supervision system for industrial safety has come into effect in Russia.

The key feature of remote monitoring is the automatic collection of data from sensors and control systems at hazardous production facilities in real time by Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision.

When violations are detected, the system automatically notifies the supervisory authority and the enterprise management, which allows to prevent an accident before it occurs by early detection of deviations.

The new remote monitoring regime is also intended to reduce the administrative burden on businesses by reducing the number of scheduled inspections for facilities connected to the monitoring system.
