Nornickel receives two All-Russian environmental awards

04 september 2026

Norilsk Nickel became a laureate of the 5th All‑Russian environmental technologies award “ECOTECH‑LEADER 2026” in two categories, held in St. Petersburg, the company’s press service reported.

The popular science media project “Environmental Technologies” won in the “Promotion of Environmental Technologies” category. This project is a series of video programmes about how environmental technologies work at Nornickel’s facilities. The project has been running for three years.

The “Ecology” Information System was singled out by the jury in the “Digital Solutions for Ecology” category. It unites 39 of the company’s enterprises, and more than 150 employees - ecologists and production specialists - can utilize it in their work. The system consists of seven subsystems, some of which are responsible for risk management and predictive analytics: it allows not only to record current indicators but also to identify possible deviations in advance.

The “ECOTECH‑LEADER” award has been presented for five consecutive years.
