But the first country to identify omicron was Botswana, the world’s largest diamond producer by value and the home of De Beers’ Diamond Trading Co. (DTC). US Holiday Jewelry Sales Predicted to Rise 40%

22 december 2021

() - After a roller coaster 2020, 2021 continued the upswing in jewelry sales to a degree few if any expected. Sales in October rose 37%, and we expect holiday jewelry sales to top that and close a fantastic year for the industry. In October, US jewelry sales reached an estimated $7.3 billion, a record for the month, based on US Department of Commerce data.
Year to date, US jewelry sales have totaled $67.8 billion. For a perspective on how unusual these sales levels are, consider the following: sales in the first ten months of 2021 alone have already surpassed 2020’s record sales of $62.3 billion by 9%. Further, year over year, the value of jewelry sales in the first ten months of 2021 are 56% percent higher than those in the comparable period of 2020. Compared to 2019, a “normal” year, sales are up 52%.

Now, Angola is ready to sell itself to the world.

20 december 2021

(jingdaily.com) - Lower-tier cities in China are a promising market for luxury brands dedicated to staying in the country, and this year’s Double 11 Shopping Festival confirmed that. When Tmall kicked off sales between November 1 and 3, the number of luxury buyers in smaller cities grew by nearly 50 percent, year-on-year. Meanwhile, shoppers from close to 400 different cities placed orders on Tmall’s Luxury Pavilion. This trend first emerged at last year’s Double 11 Festival, but “this year was another watershed moment,” according to James Yang, a partner at Bain & Company. Yang also went so far as to predict that this sector’s growth would “continue for several years to come.”
