Italians know how to present and market their goods effectively – this is a talent not everyone has. Italy is among the few countries that have earned consumer confidence, and it can pride itself in it.
Vicenza is the pearl of Italy
Jewellery exhibitions in Vicenza are a big jewellery artists community. In spite of all problems facing Italy jewellery business will survive and keep on living in any environment. When talking about the exhibition in Vicenza, people have something really beautiful in mind. For Italians, from the very beginning jewellery has become not just a common product - they express their feelings and emotions through jewellery.
People come to Vicenza to study. There came 15,000 visitors, sellers, buyers, dealers, designers and journalists from 120 countries. There are 120,000 square meters of display at the exhibition, over 1,000 Italian and 500 of international exhibitors.
New Leader
Paolo Mantovani, the youngest among his predecessors, a man of good ambitions and commitment to work seriously, the newly-crowned president of Italian origin, assumed this office just a couple of weeks before the May exhibition. Fiera di Vicenza shareholders have chosen the right strategy by appointing a young-eyed leader having a fresh perspective on both the business and jewellery exhibition organization. Even the acquaintance with the new president was arranged in an unusual way - in two steps, a press conference and individual face-to-face dinners with journalists.
The new leader has already a fairly significant list of innovations and novelties and he succeeded in attracting new interest in the exhibition. There are plans to open a new huge pavilion with unusual design solutions in 2014. The most ambitious project will be a structural extension of the fair and converting it into a boutique-show, where companies will be divided based on their distribution system, product line and general image, they will coordinate their efforts to better represent their outstanding features on the market.
T-Gold
In June, VicenzaOro T-Gold International displayed the best Italian gems, metal-working machinery, instruments and tools at the leading exhibition in San Paolo, Brazil, hosted by IBGM (Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals); Fiera di Vicenza enhanced its presence on the Brazilian market through successful co-operation with Associazione Fabbricanti ed Esportatori Macchinari per Orificeria (AFEMO). Brazil ranking sixth in the world in terms of the economic performance with a total income? = GDP of US$ 2,080 billion has become a main centre of the Latin American market producing 19.5 tons of jewellery per year.
New technologies and permanent investments in research are the most efficient weapons for gaining a foothold on the markets and increasing the competitor gap.
New Vistas
The participation of Italy in other exhibitions all over the world facilitates the study of rather important aspects in terms of export. Italy takes part regularly in the HongKong International Jewellery Show, JCK Las Vegas and Dubai Jewellery Week having a jewellery fashion show in the programme. Italian companies are also interested in the Russian customers and an extremely high import tax is an obstacle. In Brazil, for example, they were proposed a Memorandum of Understanding stipulating a tax decrease for temporary import. After this, Brazil can easily become a preferred partner of the Italian production entities.
TrendVision, Forecasting Agency
No doubt, that every jewellery company would like to know about new design trends and navigate in the new products. Paola di Luca, an expert in jewellery design, regularly presents her latest studies in the fashion design vision in the Trendbook. For 2014, TrendVision pointed out four style lines: Experimental Nature, Shadow Reality, Ethno Pop, Visionary Structures.
Andrea Palladio Awards
The ‘Andrea Palladio International Jewellery Awards’ are intended to award the best designers and their collections. At the last May exhibition, GianCarlo Montebello won in the nomination ‘The Best Italian Jewellery Designer’. The British designer Stephen Webster got the ‘The Best International Jewellery Designer’ award. The ‘Pasquale Bruni’ collection has become the best Italian one. ‘Cartier’ has won in two nominations – ‘The Best International Jewellery Brand Collection’ and ‘The Best Flagship Store’ for their boutique in Milan. ‘The Best Jewellery Communication Campaign’ was carried out by Damiani Group. Bvlgari was the winner in ‘The Best Jewellery Communication New Media’ nomination. The ideas and work of the Roberto Coin company were supported unanimously in the ‘Jewellery Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ category.
Daily morning edition of ‘Vioro Daily’ and ‘Vioro International’, glossy magazines, official web portal www.vicenzaoro.com, soft applications for smartphones, specially dedicated ‘Vicenza Oro’ TV-channel showing the most interesting exhibition events in a live television broadcasting – all this proves the highly professional work of the exhibition organizers team.
Three years ago, the exhibition organizers conceived the idea of making their own postage stamp to promote the jeweller’s art. The maiden issue of postage stamps on the jeweller’s art dubbed ‘Made in Italy’ was launched in January. And the first cancellation of a postage stamp from the collection devoted to the town of Vicenza was done during the May exhibition.
In September, the jewelers will get the autumn issue of VicenzaOro Fall and an exclusive show of 35 best Italian and international jewellery brands in Venice at the jewellery exhibition ‘About J’. And the new leader promised with strong certainty that starting from the next year the exhibitions will be held with an impressive swing.
