The overall gross export of Cut & Polished diamonds at $ 1723.17 mn in the month of MAY 2023 is showing a decline of 17.52% as compared to $ 2089.17 mn for the same period of the previous year, according to data published by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC).
The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds at $ 86.11 mn in the month of MAY 2023 is showing a decline of 28.86% as compared to $ 121.04 mn for the same period of the previous year.
Australia's Burgundy to complete the purchase of Canada Ekati Mine

By 30 June 2023, the sale of Ekati, Canada's first diamond mine to Australia-based Burgundy is due to be completed. This will be the second time the mine has changed hands in under two-and-a-half years. In February 2021, the Arctic Canadian Diamond Company acquired the deposit which is located 125 miles south of the Arctic Circle.
